"My first experience with a ghost occured when I was 8 years old. I awoke to see my grandfather who had recently passed away standing by my bedside. He looked at me and said "sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" and then simply vanished as he walked away. At the age of 18 I moved into a house that was built in the late 1800s. I experienced unexplainable noises including a baby crying. I later found out that an infant had passed away in that house in the 1960s. I also heard furniture being moved when nothing was out of place. I heard footsteps and whistling and even sometimes voices that were not there. After moving from that house I had no more experiences but it left me wondering about why ghost exist and a strong desire to document their existence. I joined a group in Charlotte and did some ghost hunting with that group for about a year. I then joined a meetup group in High Point and met some great people interested in the paranormal. Tonya and I decided to start our own group in 2007 since there were no local groups in the area at the time. I have since had many paranormal experiences and been able to document them with either photos, video or audio. My greatest experience occurred on the NC Battleship when our entire group was able to communicate with a spirit through and EMF meter for over 2 hours. The highlight of the experience was having our radios turn themselves on and hearing whispers through static and a voice come through that said my name. The more paranormal experiences I have leaves me asking more questions and searching for the answers. I'm dedicated to this field and advancing it to the point that the scientific community will accept it as a valid form of research. It's important for groups in this field to network and work together to become a stronger community that will allow us to share information and learn from each other."
